1.1 A Computer System

A system is a collection of elements that work together to achieve a common computer system consists of hardware, soflware, firmware and liveware elements that information processing.

Computer 

A programmable machine that inputs, processet and outputs data
A computer is an electronic device that can store and process data, converting it into us fa that is useful to people.

Data 

Raw data are numbers, characters, images or other outputs from devices to convert physical quantities into symbols, in a very broad sense. Such data are typically further processed by a human or input into a computer, stored and processed there, or transmitted (output) to another human or computer. Raw data is a relative term; data processing commonly occurs by stages, and the "processed data" from one stage may be considered the "raw data" of the next.

Information 

Information is a term with many meaning depending on context, but is as a rule closely related such concepts as meaning, knowledge, instruction, communication, representation, and ment stimulus. Simply stated, information is a message received and understood. In terms of data, it c be defined as a collection of facts from which conclusions may be drawn. There are many oth aspects of information since it is the knowledge acquired through study or experience instruction. But overall, information is the result of processing, manipulating and organizing in a way that adds to the knowledge of the person receiving it.
